Hinson Lake and Rotary Lodge
Hinson Lake is a lovely city park located within the city limits of Rockingham NC. The park boasts beautiful walking trails around scenic Hinson Lake. Individuals can enjoy an outdoor picnic at one of the designated picnic areas nestled among the shady trees or partake in an afternoon of fishing and canoeing. The Lodge offers indoor and outdoor meeting areas that can be rented for gatherings. All reservations for the lodge and or canoe/kayak rentals can be made through the Parks and Recreations Department located at Browder Park in Rockingham (910) 895-6810.

The Rockingham Dragway, affectionately known as “The Rock” to drag-racing fans, is one of the most famous quarter-mile drag-racing strips in the Southeast. Rockingham Speedway, also affectionately known as “The Rock”, is host to numerous races throughout the year including the 2013 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series. The Webb Farm
Richmond County is proud to be home to the pristine Webb Farm. Webb Farm is nestled on 1200 acres offering quail hunter’s wingshooting experiences that are unique to North Carolina and one of the noted quail hunting venues of the South. Discovery Place Kids
The newest member of the Discovery Place, Inc. Museum family, Discovery Place KIDS–Rockingham is the second Discovery Place KIDS location to open. Located in downtown Rockingham, NC, the museum serves children from throughout the Sandhills/South Central Piedmont region of North Carolina. Children enjoy rich play experiences that foster imagination, fun and learning. The Museum features connections to the culture and heritage of the Sandhills, including an emphasis on farming and agriculture. The Rankin Museum
Located in Ellerbe, NC, The Rankin Museum is known for its diverse and unique collections. The museum has three main areas of interest which include Natural History, American Heritage, and Native American culture spread throughout the 4,900 square foot facility. The Richmond Community Theatre
According the Theatre website, Richmond Community Theatre came into existence in 1977 and produces 3 mainstage productions every year. It is one of the longest operative community theatres in the state of NC. In a published article, the Richmond Community Theatre is the fifth oldest producing theatre behind theatres in Raleigh, Hickory, Charlotte, and Wilmington, NC. Richmond County Citizens have access to two local hospitals. Sandhills Regional Medical Center, and Richmond Memorial Hospital. Sandhills Regional Medical Center is located in Hamlet, NC and is a 64-bed acute care hospital that provides 24-hour emergency services, intensive care, telemetry, and inpatient and outpatient medical and surgical services. Richmond Memorial Hospital is a 99-bed community hospital that provides emergency, inpatient, outpatient and acute-care services. Richmond Memorial Hospital joined the FirstHealth of the Carolinas family on March 1, 2001, and became a division of Moore Regional Hospital in August 2009. In addition to these main hospitals, Richmond County citizens have access to a number of physicians, dentists, and pharmacists operating in the county.
Richmond County Schools is focused on providing high quality instruction. Educators strive to meet the diverse needs of all students. The ultimate goal among Educators is to allow students to advance in a competitive and global society. Richmond County Schools serves approximately 7,700 students at 17 fully accredited schools. In addition to the public school sector the county also features four private schools.
Another of Richmond County’s assets is Richmond Community College. The College works closely with new and existing businesses and industries to provide customized worker training programs on campus, at the work site and throughout Richmond County.
